labelsplus : Labels Plus November 2017
74 Labels Plus 74 Labels Plus Specifically at this show, he said, EFI was featuring its Jetrion 4950LX printer. “This allows us to highlight two new things this year – the high resolution version - 1260 x 720dpi which is going to allow users to produce some of those finer higher quality labels. These are the labels that require a 2-point text, or perfect barcodes; perfect gradations; magnificent skin and flesh tones. Jetrion users now have an inkjet process that is as good, or better than the flexo and conventional processes.” The other big development on show was EFI’s low- migration inks. “This is critical to help customers get into the near-food labels and packaging,” said Ken. He said the narrow web industry certainly has fast, integrated digital presses, but that none of them work well without world-class RIPs to drive them. “At Brussels, we also showed the Fiery RIP server; we’re showing our workflow Packaging Suite, including Radius, which is a wonderful solution for narrow-web, and labels. “You have to have a world-class press; you have to have a world-class RIP to drive the press; you have to have really efficient software so you can move that job around, and are profitable at the end of the day,” he added. “And of course, none of that works without a superior inks set and a service team.” Asked about the Australian market, Ken said EFI was totally committed to this part of the world, and saw it not only as a growth market, but a continuation in promoting EFI’s entire product line-up, including display graphics printers and the company’s Nozomi single-pass corrugated packaging press. “I am working closely with Spicers and Starleaton, and the direct guys will give us more coverage in the market, so we are excited about that potential.” Several weeks after Labelexpo, EFI announced a partnership with Xeikon through which Xeikon now services, supports and supplies the worldwide Jetrion customer base as well as manages sales of Jetrion digital label printing systems. Jetrion users benefit from superior customer care focused on advanced digital production operations, thanks to a strong Xeikon field presence with more than 100 dedicated service and support personnel worldwide.
